Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 519629), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.P.H. or equivalent) and a strong background in public health and psychology, with at least 3 years of post-doctoral experience in environmental/cognitive health.  They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), and an excellent record of publishing academic research papers.  They should be organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.  Relevant research experience in environment, active living and cognitive health is highly desirable.

The appointee will contribute to an international and interdisciplinary research programme on environment, active living and cognitive health.  He/She will coordinate research projects, oversee literature reviews, process and analyse data, prepare manuscripts and reports, liaise with external parties, supervise junior research staff, assist in the development of new research initiatives, and perform other research-related duties as assigned.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Ms. Anita Au at awcanita@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
