We seek an experienced Academic and/or practitioner to lead the recently established Design Anthropology Academic Portfolio, one of the four portfolios in the School of Design. The role is for an initial three years; after this period, the successful candidate can return to the Associate Professor role with different responsibilities and workloads. The role holder's period of office may be extended beyond this initial three-year period subject to outstanding performance and review.

This is a unique opportunity to join a London-based design school with a vision to impact the world by focusing on sustainable development goals and addressing design diversity and design inclusion issues. Design Anthropology Portfolio focuses on how design translates human values into tangible experiences. In addition, design Anthropology is a way to uncover social aspects of user experience. Here, the ideas are oriented toward digital transformation and innovation through visual communication, animation, and design practices.

The post holder is expected to have strong stakeholder relationships at regional, national, and international levels across teaching or their subject-related discipline, a rack record of teaching and scholarship initiatives or discipline-related research and obtain external funding, will be an inspirational design practitioner with knowledge in one of the following disciplines: Design, and visual communication. Have energy and passion for the student experience and work well across multidisciplinary teams. 

They will also be excited to seek out interdisciplinary opportunities both within the UoG and externally and to agent, cultivate and engage with established and new networks.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD degree in a relevant Design subject and be recognised as a Fellow of HEA / or have a Teaching qualification.
