Job Description

United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a full-time Psychology faculty position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Cognitive Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate level, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAEU.

The post will commence in the 2023-2024 academic year, preferably in mid-August 2023.

Compensation includes competitive tax-free salary, off-campus free housing, a comprehensive health plan, education allowance for children, annual return travel to home destination, and an end-of-service gratuity.

The UAEU is located in Al Ain city, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, on the border with Oman and approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field.

Preferred Qualification

The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to their career stage. The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy and, where appropriate, work with colleagues on national and international research.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

English is the medium of instruction at the UAEU, and the successful applicant should demonstrate native/excellent command of written and spoken English. The ability to speak/write Arabic is not required.
