Are you a passionate and driven Product Manager, who can help us build and deliver our data products?

Do you enjoy working as part of a cross-functional team to deliver best in class user experiences and solutions, that create real value for customers?

This is a pivotal role for us; we need your skills and experience to realise the product vision, strategy and roadmap for a revenue generating data platform, which provides strategic insights and benchmarking for universities globally.

We are based in London and our team works in a hybrid style between home and office. We work in cross-functional squads and the product team is split into data and web product areas

The role:

  • As a Product Manager for our Data vertical, you’ll be responsible for managing and optimising THE’s data product ideas
  • You will work alongside the data team (data science and dashboard development) and the business development director to ideate and identify opportunities to test and take to market in Tableau and other platforms
  • Our customers are central to our success, so you’ll develop a deep understanding of their needs, identifying opportunities to create value and engagement.
  • From a commercial perspective, along with your new colleagues, you will be instrumental in growing our data product revenue streams

What you will be doing:

  • Ownership of the entire product lifecycle from conception to launch and thereafter
  • Confidently facilitate workshops and ideation, problem framing sessions
  • Formulating clear and coherent business cases and competitive analysis
  • Facilitating the intake of new requests, supported by epics containing well defined scope
  • Leveraging techniques such as feature or story-mapping to breakdown epics into smaller units of work
  • Defining product specifications using clear and consistent user stories with fully validated acceptance criteria
  • Plan and lead the delivery of features in close collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Analyse and report on the performance of features in production
  • Work closely with the customer success team to manage customer integration, support and feedback

Your skills

  • Proven product discovery experience – preferably B2B
  • Proven experience of working across the full product lifecycle
  • Proven product research and discovery skills including competitor analysis, the ability to derive data-led insights from quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Proven success collaborating with a variety of business areas and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrable experience using tools such as Tableau
  • Desired practical experience working with the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong data literacy skills
  • Data analysis prototyping skills in Excel

  • Can pitch new product ideas and articulate effectively on why they’re of benefit to the customer/business

Knowledge and qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years product management experience - ideally with data products
  • A genuine interest in the power of data to support decisions and innovation
  • Knowledge of data science principles is a plus (at product level)
  • Able to support decisions using qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and logic
  • Excellent and up-to-date grasp of digital technologies, user experience design and research techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education sector is a plus
  • Educated to degree level preferred
