The NanoBioPhysics lab, a leading academic biophysics laboratory, at the Universit catholique de Louvain (Belgium) is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join its team. The successful candidate will lead a research project aimed at understanding virus-host interactions using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). This is a full-time, two-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, conduct, and manage cutting-edge experiments to study virus-host interactions using AFM
- Collaborate with other members of the laboratory and interdisciplinary research teams to advance the field
- Publish findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and/or research technicians
- Contribute to the development of new AFM-based methodologies
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Biophysics, Physics, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Strong expertise in AFM and its applications to biological systems
- Experience in virus-host interaction studies is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- A proven track record of scientific productivity, as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals
- Strong computational skills and familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, ImageJ, etc.)
