Who are we looking for?
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Associate Professor / Professor in Paramedicine, School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health to join School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.
We invite applications for an influential Associate Professor / Professor with a national or international reputation for excellence in paramedicine education, research, and leadership. The position will provide exceptional leadership, mentorship, and support across learning and teaching, research and research training, and engagement activities to enhance academic outcomes for the School of Clinical Sciences. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of evidence-based teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, a high level of understanding of contemporary paramedicine practice, and a track record in research and supervision leading to quality student outcomes. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the Paramedicine Discipline and work closely with academic, clinical teaching, and research staff. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to collaborate on world leading trauma research through the Jamieson Trauma Institute.

The School offers bachelor degrees in pharmacy, podiatry, paramedicine, medical imaging, radiation therapy, and postgraduate courses in ultrasound and podiatry, as well as research Masters and PhDs. The School has a globally-recognised research program, changing clinical practice for the better, advancing healthcare technologies and treatments to improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
What you need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you will be a dynamic academic who fosters student learning and development, with a strong investment in work-integrated learning approaches to ensure real world skills in graduates.
You will demonstrate:
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area, and current registration or eligibility to register with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (or international equivalent).
- Proven record of excellence in scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
- Record of high impact and high quality research and translation of research outcomes into education and practice.
- Demonstrated success in leading clinical and academic teams, including the ability to successfully mentor clinical and academic staff.
- Demonstrated excellence in, and high level understanding of, contemporary paramedicine practice.
- Demonstrated success at establishing and maintaining collaborations that extend best practices, implement leading solutions, and realise new opportunities.
