Job Description

The research engineer will conduct laboratory experience in support of a programme that aims to assess the impact of climate change on the service life of construction materials.  The work will involve corrosion testing of various metals exposed to different weather conditions, along with analysis of the corrosion products (Raman, XRD, XPS and SEM). The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to climate change studies and report writing, as well as adhoc addition admin duties related to safety and purchasing.

Qualifications

Good honours degree in Materials Science & Engineering or related discipline. Basic knowledge of corrosion mechanisms or electrochemistry is also required.
