Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Project Manager within School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
The iCircular3 project, coordinated by UCD, involves a consortium of two other leading European research universities from Sweden, and the UK, along with three beneficiary industrial partners and one non-beneficiary industrial partner. iCircular3 will engage three highly critical industrial sectors for the European economy: outdoor power products, robotics and electric vehicles (EVs). The consortium intends to train 9 Researchers (ESRs) to PhD level in the field of Circular Economy (CE) and its digital transition.
Our mission is to develop a cohort of future leaders in research, policy, and business through an innovative training programme, focused on an interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach to CE. Training will include secondments, coursework and additional networking opportunities. The 9 PhD projects are grouped according to the industrial sectors and one overarching work package that deals with understanding the differences and synergies among these sectors leading to policy and standard development. Funding of 8 out of 9 of these projects is being provided by the EU from 2023-26 under their competitive Horizon Europe MSCA-DN-2021 (Marie Sk odowska-Curie Doctoral Network) programme. The UK university hosted project is funded by UKRI (UK Research and Innovation).
Applications are invited for this temporary, part-time, Project Manager position, based in UCD's School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering and working directly with Dr Pezhman Ghadimi and Prof Nikolaos Papakostas, Coordinators of the DN. The successful applicant will manage all the activities of the Training Network, ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of the project. They will have primary responsibility for the administrative coordination and organisation aspects of the entire network. This will involve close interaction with all partner organisations, the funding agency and external stakeholders.
