- THE ROLE -

Ulster University is seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced candidate to provide strategic leadership and oversight in relation to the institution’s focus on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who will shape the future direction of the University’s sustainability and CSR activity.

The University is in the process of implementing a new strategy, Sustainable Futures. Our intention is that the term sustainability does not apply solely to the green agenda but covers all aspects of sustainability, from university finance, subject and campus sustainability to sharing the ambition for the UN sustainable development goals to address ending poverty and other deprivations with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

Alongside this, the University needs to advance its approach to Corporate Social Responsibility and requires focus and leadership in this regard.

The founding Dean will galvanise, revitalise and lead the staff working in these areas with a clear strategic focus on ensuring the delivery of ambitious sustainability and CSR targets. Working in close collaboration with the Deputy Vice Chancellor and the senior leadership team, the postholder will be accountable and responsible for the vision and strategy for sustainability and CSR across the University. They will develop sub-strategies and objectives to embed sustainability throughout the organisation.

The post is permanent and can be based on any of the University's campuses.
