About the Property, Facilities and Development  

The Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team works across all of Flinders’ places, spaces, and physical infrastructure. Working across four key areas: Strategic Planning and Sustainability; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; and Strategic Projects, we are responsible for the planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of university spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose and support Flinders to deliver its strategic objectives. The PFD team is leading the planning, development, and delivery of four major strategic projects as the University strives to achieve its bold ambitions. 

About the Role 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Manager to join the University’s existing Facility Management unit and oversee the operations and maintenance of our new Health Medical Research Building. The Health Medical Research Building is the first of many new builds in our visionary Village development plan over the next decade.

As the Facility Manager you will develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the operationalisation and onboarding of the new building, including aligning to University policies and procedures. This will be a critical role ensuring the building is safe, functional for all occupants post construction late 2023.

About You 

As the successful candidate, you are a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment and have a passion for facility management. You will be a high-level communicator with the ability to build and maintain valuable relationships and act as the primary contact for key internal and external stakeholders associated with facility management.

Some of the key position responsibilities of this exciting role include:

  • Demonstrated experience in operationalising a large complex facility including transition in of all services, utilities, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to develop solutions and create opportunities.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on customer service skills, negotiation skills and high level to advanced conflict resolution.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment
