Auditory Implant Service - Medical Secretary/Clinic Secretary

You will join our friendly administrative team supporting the Auditory Implant Service at the University of Southampton. The centre offers a regional service for deaf children and adults who attend for assessment and lifelong follow-up after receiving an auditory implant.

You will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team.  This role is one of 4 medical secretaries supporting a multi-disciplinary team including a visiting Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) consultant.  You will be an adaptable multi-tasker and provide proactive and patient focused administration and support to colleagues across the wider team as the need arises. You will demonstrate excellent administration skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.  Ideally, you will have experience of audio-typing and proven experience as a medical secretary or administrator within a health care setting and will have undergone specialist training in the field.

You must have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and be confident interacting with a wide variety of people via email and on the telephone. You must be able to communicate with people who may have difficulty with understanding and be compassionate to their needs. You will have a keen eye for detail and appreciate the need for accuracy and adherence to data protection and information governance policies and procedures. 

A standard DBS check will be required for this role.
