Join a unique British University in China.  The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. This award winning campus offering a UK style education has grown from its establishment in 2004 to a student body of 8,000 students.

The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding.  It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for teaching as well as research flair to join its team of School of Economics. UNNC is part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University, and offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

The School of Economics at UNNC offers a ‘BSc International Economics and Trade’ and a ‘BSc Economics’, with an ‘MSc Finance and Investment (Economics, Money and Finance)’ and a PhD in Economics. It currently comprises 22 full time members of staff and one part time Professor. The student population is 854 and looking to expand at the postgraduate level. 87 percent of our undergraduates last year proceeded with further studies in well recognised Universities of English-speaking countries. All programmes match well-established programmes running in the UK and benefit from shared resources with our campuses in UK and Malaysia. Administratively, the School is part of The Nottingham UK School of Economics, which is ranked fifth for research in the UK by the Tilburg University global ranking of economics schools and 38th in the world.

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of teaching, and contribute generally to the development of teaching, teaching methods and assessment in the School. They would be expected to convene modules and lecture in any of the core areas of economics (i.e. Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics) as well as to organise and run small group teaching. There would be opportunities to teach and supervise dissertations in their areas of expertise. The role holder would take an active role in teaching administration and the wider development of teaching within the School.

We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates and from those close to award but applicants must have relevant teaching experience. Candidates are expected to have a PhD (or be closed to completion) in economics.
