About the opportunity

The Business and Data Visualisation Analyst, will be responsible for undertaking business analysis activities across COS (Central Operations Services) for programs that will support the achievement of sustainable organizational, process and strategic change. The role will be responsible for gathering business requirements, data mapping/analysis, developing and maintaining dashboards, preparing functional specifications, the identification and mapping of 'as is' and 'to be' business processes, developing reporting, facilitating workshops and supporting delivery according to project and BAU timeframes. They will work with multiple clients at the same time, and have strong consulting experience and expertise in continuous improvement.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide data analysis services for relevant COS projects and BAU from problem definition to representation of key metrics and results in reporting and dashboards. This also includes highlighting key issues and under-performing areas
  • work in alignment with analysis imperatives and appropriate execution strategies, to address business analytics and visualization questions/requirements for COS projects and initiatives
  • provide high quality data visualization utilizing graphics and infographics, making complex data easy to understand and in a way that leads the reader to easily understand issues and performance
  • investigate and provide analysis and recommendation to solve Business Problems as directed, and clearly communicate this work in a high quality 'story telling' approach using tools
  • provide insights and analysis that are clearly actionable and are of significant benefit to COS stakeholders
  • support the University's business process modelling framework to ensure consistent quality
  • ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all source data used in metrics reporting, including the accurate labelling of data in reporting
  • support COS in its quest for continuous improvement with a pipeline of business improvement ideas driven by data and insights

About you

  • strong ability to write and read SQL code and use business intelligence tools like Power Bi
  • demonstrated experience in technical business analysis, process mapping, continuous improvement initiatives and in data management technologies
  • relevant experience gathering and analysing data and organizing reports, including the ability to use Microsoft Power Automate, Sharepoint or similar to optimise the process is well regarded but not essential
  • relevant experience in analysing of business processes using change management principles
  • excellent time management and organisation, with high level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
