The Role

We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Computer Science. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. He/she will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Masters and PhD students.
The appointee will be expected primarily to teach two modules on Java programming over the duration of the contract. They will be supported to develop their research profile too in this time, This support will include assistance to engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard. Other duties will be assigned as they arise.
Assistant Professor / Lecturer (2022) Salary Scale: €58,206 – €92,172 p.a. pro rata (7 points)
Assistant Lecturer (2022) Salary Scale: €37,166 – €64,718 p.a. pro rata (14 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
