Job Description

We are currently looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in solid state NMR spectroscopy to support the operations of the NMR Facility and to develop their research career.

The Research Fellow will support the operations and researchers of the NMR Facility, especially in the area of solid-state NMR for environmental applications, and in particular the research group of Associate Professor Schirra, especially the establishment of C elegans as a model system for metabolic research.

You will undertake research and develop your own research program in your chosen area of expertise, supported by attracting external research funding. The position will also require you to undertake some higher degree research supervision within the School of Environment and Science and oversight the necessary training of postgraduate students.

Further, Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position may work across campuses as required.

To be successful within this role you will be a highly committed solid-state NMR spectroscopist and researcher with a developing research profile that aligns with one of our leading institutes or centres showing contributions to the discipline.

It is strongly preferred that you have demonstrable expertise in solid state NMR especially for environmental applications, but solid-state NMR expertise from other research areas will also be considered

You will have a proven ability to train and supervise students, supervise honours and postgraduate research student projects, and a willingness to collaborate widely to disseminate best practice in NMR.
