Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Guidance and Counselling/Gifted Education in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 519407), to commence on August 1, 2023 or as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Education, Guidance and Counselling, Gifted Education, Educational Psychology or a related discipline, a professional teaching qualification, and at least 5 years’ teaching experience in related areas. Teaching experience in schools or tertiary institutions, direct experience of teaching gifted students, experience in guidance and counselling, commitment to pre-service teacher preparation, and/or knowledge of the local context would be strong advantages. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses related to Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, Special Education and/or Gifted Education. He/She will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students, conduct school practicum supervision, and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
