Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Special Education (2 posts) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 519411), to commence on August 1, 2023 or as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, Educational Psychology, School Psychology or a closely related field, a professional teaching qualification, and at least 5 years’ teaching experience in related areas. They should demonstrate the ability to build collaborative working relationships with university colleagues, schools and helping professionals, and competences in online and blended teaching. Those with excellence in teaching at the university level, experience in teaching students with disabilities, commitment to pre-service teacher preparation, and/or knowledge of Chinese education contexts are preferred. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

The appointees will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students, conduct school practicum supervision, and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
