Senior Research Fellow, New Materials

Job Description

• Participate actively in research and development activities of new materials based on graphite and graphene
• Conduct scientific experiments in laboratory for assigned research projects
• Develop project plan and execute scientific programmes in a timely manner
• Recommend optimal laboratory procedures and techniques to achieve project goals
• Provide guidance, mentor and training to working team and regular review of needs to ensure proficiency of the team
• Develop manufacturing processes that minimize waste and increase the quality of finished products as engineer team leader
• Monitor and test processes and products found in all phases of production
• Develop and implement safety procedures for staff working with hazardous materials
• Design, plan and implement the layout of manufacturing equipment to optimize production and decrease costs
• Stay up to date with new and emerging manufacturing processes
• Create and present cost analysis reports to upper management

Qualifications & Prerequisites

• PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering is mandatory
• Well versed with nanomaterials in particular graphene production, characterization and manipulation
• More than five years of track record as a researcher on projects and immersion experience with research ecosystem and experience building research and pre-industrial projects
• Ability to resolve complex issues and make technical, administrative and procedural decisions and judgments
• Inclusive and a genuine team player
• Hands-on, analytical, empathetic, creative, passionate professional committed to ongoing process
• Well spoken and written English language ability is a must
• Adhere to high ethical standards
