Job Description

This position is in support of experimental research in the areas of ion, atom, and molecules trapping with the goal of precision control of the quantum states of such matter. For this purpose electronic control hardware needs to be provided. The position comes with the responsibilities of creating solutions by working the complete process covering design and prototyping, oversight of the production, programming of software solutions, and testing implementations. The applications involve a range of technologies like digital data acquisition, electronic laser control, mixed signal circuits as well as RF or microwave setups that need to be tailored to the specific research applications. To a smaller extend work on maintenance and repair of such hardware is expected. This position is in support of three research groups. As the various experiments have similar control requirements, the development of shared solutions is desired.

Job Requirements

A degree related to electrical engineering and at least five years of professional experience in relevant technological applications are required. The candidate needs to be able to work independently in support of a research environment at an academic institution. Maintaining good communication with the research staff at all levels is important.
