Role Description

About the Role

This post will support the delivery of contract research on autonomous systems and more specifically on unmanned aerial systems within the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems. In this role you will develop information-centric guidance and control solutions to tackle with the current challenges in Aerospace like Advance Air Mobility (AAM) and UAV Traffic Management (UAM).

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level (or close to completion) in Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields. You will have experience of aerospace systems, developing and applying classical control and advanced control systems, and developing model-based online optimisation algorithms. You will have substantial understanding of estimation theories, systems and control, optimisation and optimal control, and machine learning. You will be expected to deliver high quality publications and knowledge dissemination via effective written and oral communication skills.
