Position overview

We are looking for a Senior Research Contracts Officer to join our Research Contracts Office at the Australian National University. In the role, the Senior Research Contracts Officer will discuss research projects with academics and research staff and negotiate, draft, review and finalise research contracts and other research-related agreements to support the delivery of world class research. The Senior Research Contracts Officer will ensure projects are well planned and the proposed contractual terms and conditions are acceptable, appropriate and compliant with University policies and requirements. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in research. You must be a strong communicator with experience in research, research management and contract drafting, review and negotiation.

The ANU is a research-intensive University with academics committed to solving problems through big picture and applied research. The Contracts Office is part of the Research and Innovation Services Division within the Research and Innovation Portfolio and provides a focus for expertise in the review and negotiation of research and research-related contracts and supports the strategic goals of the ANU.

The Senior Contracts Officer will work closely with College Research Management Offices and researchers across the University as well as the ANU Legal Office, the Office of Business Engagement and Commercialisation and other Research and Innovation Portfolio areas.
