At the Faculty of Education, Institute of Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics, the

Chair (W2) of Social Pedagogy and Didactics of Social Pedagogy 

is to be filled as of April 1, 2024.

The chair is responsible for educating students enrolled in the teachers training program for vocational schools in the vocational specialization of social pedagogy. Your duties include the management of the vocational specialization of social pedagogy and didactics of social pedagogy within the teachers training for vocational schools (state examination). By shaping the institutes’ focus, you (m/f/x) will be responsible for developing the competencies that span the intersection of disciplinary, educational, and professional didactics expertise. You will provide inspiration for research in social pedagogy and specialized didactics with regard to educational processes in and out of school, as well as to aspects of social pedagogy. Moreover, you will promote early-career researchers in the field. We also expect you to participate in training students as part of degree programs by offering courses (bachelor’s program and master’s program) at the Institute of Social Pedagogy, Social Work and Welfare Studies. Your willingness to network with educational stakeholders and institutions in the region, both in and out of school, to participate in the interdisciplinary networks of TU Dresden and to actively participate in academic self-administration, is a prerequisite.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed, highly responsible research personality who is active on the international stage and who can inspire our students through high motivation and didactic skills in the area of teaching. We expect you to contribute to shaping our faculty's profile for the future through relevant research experience. Additionally, we expect experience in research on educational processes in social education and in the successful acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
