Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Chinese Language Education in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 519409), to commence on August 1, 2023 or as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Chinese Language Education or a related discipline, a professional teaching qualification, and at least 10 years’ teaching experience in Chinese Language Education in local schools. Those who are able to demonstrate innovation and leadership in teaching Chinese Language, and knowledge of and experience in the local school Chinese curriculum and assessment, school-based curriculum development, and local school management will be preferred. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.
The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses related to Chinese Language Education for the secondary school settings. He/She will also be expected to conduct school practicum supervision and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
