You will join our Engineering Design and Manufacturing Centre (EDMC) to support the Faculty Production Facilities Manager through the provision of effective and efficient technical support to the School of Engineering and to its external customers.

As a highly experienced electronics engineer, you will use your broad knowledgebase and experience to provide technical manufacturing support with a focus on student education in making and manufacturing through module, project and other activities in the EDMC, Electronics and Design Workshops and its associated facilities.

You will have a good understanding and practical knowledge of electronics, coupled with experience in supervising electronic design and construction. Relevant subject areas are analogue electronics, instrumentation, data acquisition, microcontroller applications and motor control.

Working in close co-operation with the team you will be able to give advice on the design of experimental items and manufacture components to high standards from limited instructions whilst employing excellent hand skills.

You will monitor and support student activities ensuring compliance with local procedures and Health and Safety policies.

The weekly hours are 08.30 am – 4.30pm (excluding 1 hour break during this period) Monday to Friday, or at other times as designated by the Head of Department or their representative.
