Many of the wicked problems in society today require interconnected and interdependent perspectives and collective collaboration. We enable students to thrive in a VUCA world by equipping them with interdisciplinary & experiential learning tools and processes, enabling students to synthesise knowledge from multiple disciplines to address complex issues. Above all, we deepen students' socio-cultural competence and social responsibility to the local and global community through sustainable, reciprocal engagement with partners on real-world issues.

Office of Global Programmes

The Office of Global Programmes aims to nurture and equip students with competencies to thrive in a globalised world. Besides effective cross-cultural communication skills, we also prioritise imbuing students with empathy, problem-solving skills, innovation and a balanced understanding of pressing global concerns such as sustainable development. We do this through a range of Global Learning programmes for SUSS students and youths in the region.

Job Description

The successful candidate will: 

  • Lead in initiating and building strategic partnerships with international universities and regional organisations, with a particular focus on emerging markets in Asia.
  • Lead in developing and teaching overseas (in person and/or hybrid) Global Learning courses, with an emphasis on credit-bearing Global Learning courses that contribute to students' development of global competencies. You must have the capacity to reinforce interdisciplinarity of Global Learning courses through collaboration with faculty and/or professionals.
  • Lead in developing non-credit bearing Global Learning programmes that contribute to students' development of global competencies. 
  • Lead in the assessment of students' experiential learning, including their written and group assignments.
  • Mentor, coach, or advise students in their Global Learning journeys.
  • Co-lead in the development of inbound credit-bearing summer or winter school programmes for visiting international students, including collaboration with SUSS faculty members to shape its learning outcomes, design experiential learning activities, and coordinate with various stakeholders and community partners on logistical matters,
  • Co-manage administrative duties related to Global Learning programmes, including pre- and post-trip publicity, data management, and finance. 
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor, as well as participate in university-wide activities. 

Job Requirements

The suitable candidate should: 

  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience. Candidates with a background in experiential learning will be prioritised. 
  • Have a proactive and energetic disposition. You should enjoy meeting with different types of people and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple projects and partnerships.
  • Have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, with experience in partnership building. Experience in partnership building with regional or international communities is advantageous. 
  • Have a high degree of commitment to students' well-being and holistic development. Experience in student development and people development are advantageous.
  • Be organised and meticulous, particularly in the planning of academic courses, youth forum, and a variety of Global Learning programmes. 
  • Be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have a Masters' degree in a related field, experience in the Education sector is preferred.
  • Be able to travel at least once every quarter, if required.
