We seek to appoint either a Lecturer or a Senior Lecturer in Digital Economy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation to join our team. For this post we are particularly interested in individuals who want to lead our research and teaching in related areas across the curricula of UG and PG programmes.

Our staff publish in leading journals in our fields such as the Academy of Management journals, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Journal, Organization Studies, Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change, Long Range Planning, HBR, MIT Sloan Management Review, the International Journal of Operations Management, Technovation, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, and Supply Chain Management among others. DDEEI is led by Professor Glenn Parry and includes a healthy mix of research active faculty and practitioner teaching fellows. As a team, we have grown strongly in recent years and have further appointments already in the pipeline. The successful candidate will be invited to join CoDE, the Centre of Digital Economy, the 35-member strong multi-disciplinary leading research centre closely affiliated with DDEEI, whose mission is to drive forward joint projects to leverage the opportunities created by the digital economy to enhance society and enrich human life.

GOALS OF THE POSITION

Applicants should have a developing research discourse that links to our department as well as the Centre of Digital Economy (CoDE) areas of interest.

Commensurate with the position applied to, individuals must have a track record of publications in leading journals (CABS rated 3 or 4), with a pipeline of papers going forward. You will contribute to developing the research agenda, participate in grant applications and cooperate with companies and other external stakeholders. In your teaching, you are expected to emphasise the quality of the student experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of the position will be to:

  • Teach on our Enterprise and Innovation Modules (and others) – typically research active staff teach on 2 modules.
  • Supervise a small group of personal tutees and students on placement year
  • Supervise and marking of masters student projects
  • Publish journal articles at CABS 3 and 4: 
  • For the Lecturer role, we would expect at least one CABS 3 article already published, and several CABS3 or 4 in the pipeline
  • For the Senior Lecturer, we would expect at last three CABS 3 papers already published, and several CABS3 or 4 in the pipeline
  • Contribute to life in the department and school, usually via a service role

Someone who fits into our team. You will bring something new, whilst aligning with our current interests. PhD in Business and Management (or related), highly organised and can plan and manage your own work. A passion for theoretical development and strengthening the teams teaching capability to enhance student experience.

Candidates in the final stages of completing their PhDs are encouraged to apply only if they will competed before September 2023, or shortly thereafter and have already progressed their publication pipeline.
