Description

The Accountant is accountable for project related financial data and is responsible to provide support to the Research and Develolpment in the FA related deliverables, updating the monthly payroll costs and fringe benefits of temporary researchers against individual external and internal research projects. This role is very critical in ensuring accurate project related spend, since personnel and Fringe benefits is an integral part of research spending.

• Record personnel costs and fringe benefits for researchers against their applicable projects
• Preparation of period end accruals and accruals reconciliation, and report the results to the relevant Department/Division for clearance.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile GL Accounts with all subledgers
• Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
• Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine dispositions.
• Work on Fixed Asset disposal/Write-off process.
• Prepare and calculates disposal asset netbook value, cross checks the Barcode no, asset cost, Assign Date
• Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger
• Run depreciation for all fixed assets
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
• Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
• Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine dispositions.
• Work on Fixed Asset disposal/Write-off process.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, in Finance, Accounting. Relevant Certification preferred.

Required Experience:

• Expats: A minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• UAE Nationals: A minimum of 0-1 year of relevant experience
