The Position

A position has become available for a Postdoctoral Fellow involved in monitoring and modelling agro-ecosystem productivity, development, allocation and management in collaboration with NESP climate hub, CSIRO, ANU Research Schools of Biology, Environment and Earth Sciences and USYD. The partnership focuses on water, nutrient and carbon cycles, genetic variation and response to management. Systems include (cover) cropping, pasture and (agro)forestry with disturbances of mechanical harvest, grazing and/or prescribed fire. The goal is to expand point based models to a managed mixed-use landscape and link this with remote sensing and on ground environmental and physical measurement. Modelling tools include APSIM, DayCent, DAESim, LPJml, Jules/Cable

Research team members have world class expertise in Genomics, Phenomics, and Environmental monitoring, measurement and management.

The Person 

We are looking for a qualified person with a PhD in plant science, remote sensing, plant and/or ecosystem modelling that can contribute in a team environment but also work independently. Much of the work is computational, but field work and travel opportunities are available.
