We have exciting opportunities available for a high-achieving, innovative, and resourceful academics in Information & Communications Technology (ICT) or Computer Science (CS) to join the Technology Discipline of the School of Science, Technology and Engineering at UniSC Moreton Bay.

You will join our small but extremely talented staff within the Technology Discipline and grow the breadth and depth of our research and education. You will complement existing strengths in the broad areas of data science; human factors / design science; and smart design for industry (including machine learning & AI, IoT, Cloud, security & networking). As a group we have identified key industries to work with including transport, health and agriculture, but also welcome applications from talented people working in other areas of ICT / CS who feel they can help us build transdisciplinary links in the University's recognised areas of research excellence and impact.

Lecturer in Information & Communications Technology / Computer Science (Software Design and Development) - Job ID: 23034

You will be expected to engage in undergraduate teaching of ICT / CS and contribute to the suite of postgraduate courses delivered in person and online. Ideally, you will have the ability to teach across a broad range of courses in one or more of the following areas:

  • Software development, object-oriented programming
  • Human-computer interface design
  • Low level computing (computer organization, operating systems, embedded programming, data structures and algorithms, compilers)
  • Cloud and mobile development (DevOps and full stack web development)
  • Cybersecurity

Lecturer in Information & Communications Technology / Computer Science (Networking and IoT) - Job ID: 23060

You will be expected to engage in undergraduate teaching of ICT / CS and contribute to the development and coordination of postgraduate courses delivered in person and online. Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to teach across a broad range of courses in one or more of the following areas:

  • Wireless communications
  • Software Defined Networking
  • Internet of things, Industry 4.0
  • Cloud and mobile development (DevOps and full stack web development)
  • Network Security
  • Network Forensics

You will possess:

  • completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
  • proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
  • sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position;
  • membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups;
  • evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic;

Desirable

  • experience undertaking academic administrative functions, e.g. course coordination, within a University.
