Do you want to change the world for the better and make the future fairer? If so, this role is an amazing opportunity to join the dynamic, lifecycle- orientated Widening Participation and Social Mobility Directorate at the University of Southampton.

The Widening Participation and Social Mobility Directorate (WPSM) has responsibility for meeting the ambitious targets of the University’s Access and Participation Plan (APP) which aims to improve the access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds

You would be joining the Lifecycle team at a key point of its development following the creation of WPSM in the past two years.

The role supports the management of systems, initiatives and projects which cut across the WPSM directorate. The post holder will lead on delivery projects working with students from underrepresented groups, the Student Connectors programme, external collaborative partners and the directorate’s administrative systems. The post holder will have the responsibility for managing the Student Connectors and Administrative teams.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in Widening Participation, a good understanding of policy and practice from across the sector, management experience and be experienced in supporting the delivery of large projects.  The role is key to successful internal and external relationships so the possession of strong interpersonal skills will be key.

The WPSM are currently working on a hybrid basis and expect this to continue for the foreseeable future.
