Location: Washington, DC
Open Date: Jan 04, 2022
Deadline:

Description
Dr. Tingting Wang's lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Georgetown University Medical Center is seeking highly motivated postdoc fellows who are interested in neuroscience research.

The long-term research goal of the Wang lab is to understand the mechanisms underlying homeostatic regulation that stabilizes the nervous system and how the dysfunction of homeostatic control contributes to neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. The lab uses a broad spectrum of techniques such as electrophysiology, confocal imaging, super-resolution imaging, RNA-Sequencing, and genome editing in combination with cutting-edge computational methods to explore the basis and functional consequences of dysregulated homeostatic signaling.

Successful candidates will have opportunities to work on glia-neuron communications in homeostatic plasticity and animal models of autism and neurodegeneration. The research is supported by NINDS/NIH (R01 and R21), Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (BTI award), and Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (NARSAD award). Postdoc fellow salary and benefit will be set commensurate with their experience and qualification according to NIH guidelines. They will also benefit from the thriving and collegial research environment, excellent career development guidance, and state-of-art research facilities at Georgetown University Medical Center.
