We are seeking up to two new board members who are interested in academic accounting research and how this can assist with issues facing the accountancy profession.
Board members do not need to be ICAEW members although they should recognise the role and work of professional bodies.
All applications will be carefully considered but, to ensure the board membership covers the range of our activities, we particularly welcome hearing from people with the following knowledge and experience:
- Academics with published research on topics relevant to the accountancy profession or on Political Economy affecting the business environment.
- Academics outside the accounting department with an interest in issues affecting the accountancy profession, particularly:
- behavioural science;
- risk;
- data analytics (applied mathematics)
- Someone from a large firm with skills in non-financial reporting and sustainability issues.
- Someone who works in regulation or who has strong links with regulators and people who we want to use and benefit from the research we fund.
- Academics at universities outside the UK.
We are committed to widening diversity at ICAEW and we welcome applications from a broad range of applicants. We plan to hold at least one in-person meeting per annum, but all meetings have the option to join online so there is no specific requirement to travel to meetings.
