Ko waikoe? - Who are you?

You will use your proven track record in teaching and researching in law, and also legal professional experience, is required. An LLB or JD degree or equivalent, and/or LLM with equivalent professional experience, as you educate and teach our students. You will be a clear communicator as you share and build your knowledge from your research. Subsequently you will undertake postgraduate supervision as you assist our students through their academic journey.

Ideally you will hold or be enrolled to complete a PhD. It will be essential that you have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, as well as being able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Ngā kōrero mōtetūranga - About the role

The successful applicant will be required to produce high quality research outputs in the discipline of law, and teach in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate law papers. Specific expertise in the field of Pacific Peoples in the Law is essential. As is the ability to contribute research-led teaching in any one of the core undergraduate law subjects — Legal Systems, Public Law, Contracts, Torts, Crimes, Land, and Equity and Trusts. Teaching should be research-led, and the successful applicant will be expected to attract external research funding. Supervision of postgraduate students is also an important part of the role.
