Role Description

Lecturer in Sensor Fusion

We welcome applications for this exciting new Lecturer post from passionate, prospective candidates to join our team and to support the strategic development of Cranfield’s engineering activity within the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems. 

About the Role

You will be leading research to strengthen the Centre’s international reputation as well as providing high quality postgraduate teaching to a few MSc courses, e.g., Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics and Control MSc, and our research student program.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject and have evidence of significant independent contribution to the design and execution of research as well as experience of generating, securing and delivering significant research programs.  With excellent communication skills & relevant previous experience in teaching at undergraduate & graduate level, we are in particular seeking individuals with an international profile in aerospace engineering and systems, and aerospace science and technology, especially on estimation and sensor fusion, to develop research areas in topics such as 

• Data correlation and association
• Sensor and information fusion
• Multiple target tracking
• Object detection, identification, and classification
• Decentralised/distributed estimation over a sensor network
• Sensor fusion applications of Artificial Intelligence/ big data/ machine learning
