Applications are invited for a post (estimated duration until 31st March 2025) of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Data and Digital Technologies for Agriculture, Food and the Environment within UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering.

The UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes. The School has an acknowledged international track record of research, teaching and leadership achievement across major fields within the discipline.

This position is to strengthen the school's expertise in technologies such as Precision Agriculture or Earth Observation. The position will support the Human Capital Initiative project, Ireland's Knowledge Centre for Digital Transformation, and will develop teaching of Digital Agriculture and contribute to research in this area.

The successful candidate will hold a primary degree and a PhD in Engineering, Science or disciplines closely related to Digital Agriculture such as Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Systems Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Earth Observation, Spatial Data Analysis. Some knowledge of production agriculture is desirable. Applicants with backgrounds in these or related areas are invited to apply.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
