RaPID is a specialised Product Development Facility for rapid product prototyping and sample production to support companies in pursuing innovation and value creation. RaPID aims to support companies including local SMEs, startups, innovators and its industry partners in leveraging on SIT’s applied research expertise in engineering and info-communication technologies and its pool of Professional Officers, and work-ready students to design and develop new products through iterative rapid prototyping and small batch production before scaling up for manufacturing. RaPID is looking for a suitable candidate to assist the Head of Centre in business development, industry engagement, manage financial and operations tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of the Centre to promote services of Rapid Product Innovation and Development (RaPID) Centre
• Identify new business opportunities - including new growth areas, trends, customers and partnerships
• Generate leads for prospective customers, foster and develop relationships with customers/clients/industry partners/ associations/ government agencies to secure innovative projects and collaborations
• Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively on how to meet their needs
• Responsible for organising marketing activities, events and seminars where appropriate to create awareness of RaPID
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless facilitation between SIT working teams and industry partners
• Provide operational and coordination support relating to the industry collaborations, e.g. negotiating and closing of project agreements
• Monitor and track KPIs and financial budget for RaPID
• Any other work as assigned by Head of Centre

Job Requirements:

• Minimally a University Degree
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of working experience in business development, managing research collaborations and handling legal agreements
• Knowledge of Product Development will be an added advantage
• Candidate with experience working with Singapore local SMEs, government agencies, research institutions, and institutes of higher learning will be preferred
• Familiarity with the local SME environment and various government funding schemes will be preferred
• Ability to manage multiple clients / projects at the same time. Enjoy working closely with industry, academic staff and students in an educational environment
• Great stakeholder management skills and a team player
• Possess strong analytical skills with an eye-for-details
• Have good persuasive writing and communication skills, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  The successful candidate would be hired on a two-year contract.
