Ranked in the top 10 of London Universities, it has a clear sense of mission delivering transformative education that enhances the lives and employment prospects of its students and staff alike. With a history in education that dates back through our four colleges over 175 years, the University has been a pioneer in teacher training and has been providing education to women longer than any other university in the country. Today, the colleges provide the friendly, welcoming community that makes Roehampton so distinctive, supporting student wellbeing, social life and the wider student experience.
The Faculty of Business and Law is a vibrant learning community of students and staff who believe that businesses and legal professionals should act with a social conscience and promote excellent citizenship. These values are embedded in our world-class research and the practice-based pedagogy we provide for our students. In the latest Complete University Guide (2022), Roehampton Law has been ranked #1 in the country for student satisfaction. We focus on ‘law in practice’ and, through our comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio which will evolve to include a focus on commercial law, we provide our students with the opportunity to act like a lawyer from the very start of their time with us.
The School is growing and evolving its popular offer and we now seek a dynamic and talented Head to provide strategic leadership for this high-performing area. The successful candidate will have a track record of experience in delivering successful student outcomes, portfolio development and quality assurance in legal higher education. Working with internal and external stakeholders and nurturing the talent of our academic colleagues, you will be an experienced and talented leader who will be a mainstay in ensuring the strategic aims of the Faculty and University are delivered.
