Manager, Marketing & Communications

Responsible for communications plans supporting University’s brand, corporate communications, marketing strategy and framework. Core portfolio covers internal/change communications, speech writing support for key executives, project manage corporate collaterals from concept to production, content creation/editorial management of employee portal and leading high visibility University-level events involving public office holders. Job Description

  • Work closely with Senior Manager, HOD, HR and senior leadership to build/reinforce our University core values through effective employee comms and engagement strategies. Co-lead special projects eg: employee brand ambassador initiative, anniversary events
  • Collaborate closely with comms teams to coordinate time-sensitive communications across all relevant internal and external platforms (eg: crisis-related advisories, workplace safety announcements etc)
  • Develop employee/change comms plan and materials for key executives including speeches, presentation slides, photography, video, etc
  • Collaborate with staff representatives and external agencies to plan and execute internal comms campaigns and measure their effectiveness
  • Responsible for developing editorial calendar and content for staff portal, and editing content contributions from across the University for staff portal and campus digital signage system
  • Partner with Digital Lead to uncover new opportunities to enhance staff portal design/functionality
  • Track campaign performance and provide timely reports on staff portal, leveraging analytics for enhancements to content and performance
  • Responsible for core corporate collaterals (annual reports, corporate slides, year-end greeting cards) aligned with brand messaging
  • Maintain/update University-wide events calendar and develop compelling messaging for high-impact University events, eg: ministerial visits and University forums, while maintaining high standards and processes as Events lead

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing or a related discipline
  • 8–10 years of experience in marketing/corporate communications or public relations, with a passion for communications as a career
  • Excellent writing skills in English with editorial flair and strong creative judgement.  Proficiency in Chinese language would be advantageous but not essential
  • Enjoy staying informed of the key developments of the communications and education industry to foster new ideas and innovation
  • Experienced in event marketing and related protocol, particularly those involving C-suite and senior government officials
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with digital platforms, analytics tools and content management systems; knowledge of applications (eg: Canva, PhotoShop, Qualtrics) would be advantageous but not essential
