Graduate Project Engineer, Estate Services

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Graduate Project Engineer within UCD Estate Services.

UCD Estate Services is responsible for the development and operation of the University Estate and Buildings. The strategic Campus Development Plan 2016-2021-2026 sets out the University's ambitious and exciting development plans over the next number of years. UCD Estate Services is seeking to appoint a Graduate Project Engineer and to form a panel from which future appointments may be made.

The successful candidate(s) will have a construction related background, interested in bringing projects from inception through to handover managing all aspects of the built environment including planning, delivery and management of the building and support services of the University.

As part of a wider team, the Graduate Project Engineer will play a key role in ensuring successful delivery of specific infrastructural, minor maintenance and capital projects and may be assigned a site-based role to co-ordinate specific construction projects as required.

The successful candidate will be an important member of UCD Estate Services contributing to the continuing effective operation of a vibrant 24/7 university campus. The appointee will have a 3rd level engineering or other construction related qualification, ideally with work experience or placement in a similar role. She/he will have proven interpersonal and organisational skills, and will possess the ability to work on multiple projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. Professional development support will be offered and encouraged through initiatives to the appointee to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

IMP. NOTE: A temporary panel will be created through which other Temporary (full-time) `Graduate Project Engineer' positions will be filled - and if arising within 12 months of an initial competition for (one) Temporary 3 year post*. [The duration of posts offered on foot of a Panel being established may also often vary].*

95 Graduate Project Engineer Salary Scale: 40,217 - 50,605 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
