Who are we looking for?
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) to join School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.
We are seeking an academic with a passion and experience in fundamental or applied research in the area of power systems engineering. The role will require participation in fundamental and applied research, including grant funding submissions and publications. It will also contribute to teaching, innovation in teaching, and potentially contribute to the development of new courses and micro-credentials This position will grow QUT’s strength in Electrical Engineering and Robotics research, education, and industry and external engagement.

What you need to succeed
You will thrive in this role as an experienced and dynamic academic with a passion for innovative research and teaching, which prepares students for the real-world.
You will demonstrate:
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in Electrical Engineering Major in Power System Engineering or closely related fields.
- Demonstrated leadership ability (teaching, research and/or engagement) in power engineering field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a research program that supports and complements existing research strengths in a relevant discipline of power engineering
- Demonstrated a good track record of high quality peer-reviewed Q1/D1 journal publications in the core power systems area.
- Synergy with the School’s and Faculty’s existing research areas.
- Capacity to coordinate and teach a range of relevant power engineering units, with the ability to implement innovative teaching practices including blended learning and authentic assessment.
- Level C – demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate research students and higher degree research (HDR) students;
Level B - ability to supervise undergraduate research students, and potential to develop the ability to supervise HDR studentsProven ability to contribute to a high performance and collaborative culture.

Remuneration: The classification for this position is:
- Academic Level B (Lecturer) which has an annual remuneration range of AUD $123,419 to $146,575 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of AUD $104,290 to $123,858 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading; or
- Academic Level C (Senior Lecturer) which has an annual remuneration range of AUD $151,195 to $174,359 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of AUD $127,762 to $147,336 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading.
