Applications are invited for a Project Manager to work full-time on an NCSC / EPSRC-funded VeTSS Research Institute (Verified Trustworthy Software Systems). The successful post holder is expected to start as soon as possible and will be based in the Department of Computer Science, reporting to the Director at Surrey (Dr. Dongol).

You will be responsible for coordinating research activities across VeTSS in partnership with Imperial College London. You will also facilitate and manage interactions with the external project partners and take a leading role in participative research engagement events and activities with stakeholders.

You will have an appropriate project management qualification such as APM/Prince 2/PMP, or equivalent professional experience managing software projects in the IT/Security sector and/or in Computer Science-related research. Experience with managing interactions with external project partners and stakeholders via Project Advisory Boards and other means is essential. Experience with public engagement is desirable.

Software systems underpin and permeate all aspects of modern life, and what was once the preserve of a technically advanced workplace is now ubiquitous. The software systems driving the world must therefore function together reliably and securely, despite being created by a range of organisations across the globe. It’s a complex challenge but hugely important. VeTSS brings together the best minds in academia and business to stand at the forefront of research creating industrial-strength tools with real-world applications. 

VeTSS will help cement the UK’s leadership in verified software by providing an inclusive community that will bring together the foremost verification researchers and practitioners, facilitating active engagement between academia, industry and government stakeholders.

The post will be based in the NCSC / EPSRC funded VeTSS Research Institute, which is hosted within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Surrey. VeTSS has a long-standing reputation for supporting world-class research into verification of software systems, bringing together partners in academia, industry, government stakeholder, and funding bodies. The next iteration of VeTSS will carry this forward and aim to support research in established in verified security and distributed systems, as well as support new research areas such as verification in quantum computing and AI.

This is a fixed term contract for up to 32 months.
