Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position in mathematics. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a distinguished record of scholarship including a strong international research collaboration in the mathematical sciences and a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They should actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. Superior leadership and communication skills are pluses. The Department views this position as a key step towards setting up at UAE University a Research Center of excellence in mathematics in the region, with a mission to develop interdisciplinary research to address scientific and technological problems from other disciplines and industries related to the priority areas of the UAE and to train the next generation of researchers. And hence candidates with experience in leading similar research centers are desired for this position and will have priority.

The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, a list of international collaborators and their affiliation, and three (3) letters of recommendation with at least one about research activities.

English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Mathematics. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. A good record of scholarship is also needed.

Preferred Qualification

Good leadership and communication skills. Experience in leading research centers is a plus.
