Job Description

About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in the discipline of Social Work. The primary focus of this role is to provide leadership across social work programs. The role also includes convening and teaching social work courses, and supporting the delivery of high-quality social work education that prepares graduates to enter the field with confidence and competence. This role includes supervision of Honours Dissertations and Higher Degree Research candidates as well as research and scholarship in learning and teaching. It is expected that applicants will have a well-developed research agenda that aligns with strategic priorities of the School of Health Sciences and Social Work. This will include active engagement with external stakeholders in both research and practice.

This is a full time, continuing position based at either the Logan or Gold Coast campus. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.

Salary Range

The base salary for Lecturer (Level B) is in the range $100,137 - $118,916 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $117,160 - $139,132 per annum.

The base salary for Senior Lecturer (Level C) is in the range $122,668 - $141,447 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $143,521 - $165,492.

Qualifications

About You

To be successful within this role, you will be a social work academic who has capacity for discipline leadership as well as knowledge and experience to deliver student-focused learning and teaching in generic social work courses. You will have experience in both on-campus and online teaching and capacity to adapt to new learning environments. You will possess or be enrolled a doctoral level qualification in a field related to social work, and evidence of a passion for learning and teaching, and a commitment to research collaboration and supervision. In addition, you will effectively engage with external partners to promote employability objectives for Griffith graduates, and you will seek to ensure that diverse student cohorts are retained and supported to succeed at university.
