Applications are invited for a full-time position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in human-computer interaction and health communication. The postdoctoral fellow will join the research team of the Principal Investigator Dr. Renwen Zhang, in the Department of Communications and New Media at NUS. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the PI and her research team and collaborators on cutting edge research in digital health technologies, human-computer interaction, and AI ethics. 

This position is funded by Singapore Ministry of Education Academic Research Fund Tier 1. The initial contract will be 1 year with the possibility of renewal contingent on satisfactory job performance and funding availability.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have:

  • A PhD in communication, human-computer interaction, data science or a related field
  • Experience with conducting surveys and interviews 
  • Experience processing large dataset and implementing mainstream machine learning techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as R and Python
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven track record with publications in reputable peer-review journals
  • An ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking literature reviews
  • Leading on data collection
  • Leading on analysing data using both quantitative and qualitative techniques
  • Leading on writing reports, presentations, and publication of results and findings in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings 
  • Assisting the PI with supervision of junior team members
  • Collaborating with researchers in other research institutions

    5. Evidence of international visibility, e.g. invitations to speak, major keynotes and plenary addresses, elected membership in professional and learned societies, membership on editorial boards of leading journals.
