The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty. Frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses that lead to registration in nursing, midwifery, health visiting/school nursing, speech and language therapy, operating department practice, and paramedic science. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provision including the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, and the MSC in Interprofessional Healthcare Simulation. The Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues, providing a key forum for the school’s research and knowledge exchange.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced mental health nurse to teach across our pre-registration mental health nursing programmes. If appointed, you will join a highly successful and vibrant faculty. Our mental health nursing programme is ranked 9th nationally for student satisfaction. You will also have opportunity to participate in research and knowledge exchange activities coordinated by the Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development (ILD). The ILD brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues, and has been instrumental in our recent success in the 2022 REF. 

Successful applicants will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and enterprise activities.  Opportunity also exists to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
