Sustainability Specialist (Quality and Sustainability)

Description

Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining an Institution-wide energy conservation program.

• Work on developing sustainability project goals, objectives, initiatives, or strategies in collaboration with other sustainability professionals.
• Review and revise sustainability proposals or policies.
• Research or review regulatory, technical, or market issues related to sustainability.
• Assess or propose sustainability initiatives, considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, technical feasibility, and acceptance.
• Provide technical or administrative support for sustainability programs or issues.
• Identify or create new sustainability indicators.
• Create or maintain plans or other documents related to sustainability projects.
• Identify needed resources to implement sustainability programs or projects.
• Identify or create new sustainability indicators.
• Monitor or track sustainability indicators, such as energy usage, natural resource usage, waste generation, and recycling.
• Identify or investigate violations of natural resources, waste management, recycling, or other environmental policies.
• Coordinate lab waste disposal activities and procedures, and ensure that they are being performed in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
• Assist in the development of sustainability training courses when required.
• Assist in the development of sustainability report to communicate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
• Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in the related field.

Required Experience:

• Expats: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• UAE Nationals: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
