About the position

Successful applicants will work closely with our Senior Academic Clinical Placement Coordinator to support students undertaking postgraduate training in professional psychology, including placement sourcing and support, teaching, mentoring, and, if registered, clinical supervision. Students are distributed across Australia so we welcome applications from suitably qualified psychologists located in any State or Territory, and particularly in regional or rural settings. Work days and times are very flexible and all work can be conducted online or by phone. Opportunities may also include curriculum development, subject coordination, teaching, and contributing to the administrative functions of the discipline, as well as undertaking scholarly work relevant to the development of learning and teaching in the professional psychology field.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and:
    • full membership (or eligibility) with the Australian Psychological Society (APS); and
    • registration (or be working towards registration) as a supervising psychologist at the higher degree program level by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA); and
    • endorsement as a specialist in a relevant sub-discipline with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) is not required but would be an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of the registration requirements for students undertaking professional psychology placements and internships, including familiarity with a range of existing and new placement providers and with software systems which underpin effective management of placements.
  • Ability to engage effectively with external partners so as to increase student access to rich placement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by, for example, high results on student feedback on teaching surveys relative to their peers,  or through other forms of evidence.
