We have an immediate and exciting opportunity to be part of our team in the division of Student and Education Services at the University of Southampton. Student and Education Services is responsible for the delivery of all elements of the student experience in relation to student administration, support and co and extra-curricular student-facing provision at the University. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team as we seek to achieve our ambition to provide a best-in-class student experience aligned to our new University strategy.
In the Student Hub, the team’s role is to take ownership of student queries, providing timely solutions and consistent advice, giving our students the opportunity to focus on their studies and make positive memories that will last a lifetime.
The Student Hub are seeking a passionate and motivated Advisor who will work to support our students who are undertaking Business or Electronic and Computer Science related programmes. You will provide advice and guidance to students on a range of student queries related to fees, funding, academic administration and wellbeing. You will be working particularly closely with senior tutors, personal academic tutors, programme administrators and the school student office to ensure students feel confident and clear on how to engage with the University and their degree, especially at the start of their studies, to obtain the information and support they need to succeed.
A successful Student Hub Advisor will possess excellent customer service skills, as well as a competency in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning service specific software and internal systems. A knowledge of higher education, student support and issues affecting students from a wide range of backgrounds is desirable. The role involves interaction with our students and the successful candidate must be a good communicator, both written and verbal, and confident working alongside a variety of colleagues, and building relationships.
