You’ll have the scope to create your own opportunities. For example, one of our colleagues joined us in 2017 with an industrial research background. Since then, she’s built a strong publishing record, mentored students, advised industrial partners, and been awarded numerous grants. With our support, she’s directed her own progress and is spearheading research initiatives in Healthcare Technology. She was promoted to a Professor in 2021.

You’ll need a PhD, or equivalent professional qualifications in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, with a strong publication record, and be able to demonstrate delivery of teaching in a manner that meaningfully engages students. It is essential that you have a track-record of innovative research in Biomedical Engineering and have a desire to build a strong research team..
