Full Professorship (W3) of Neuro-Cognitive Psychology
(Chair)

commencing as soon as possible.

Candidates are expected to have an outstanding international track record in the field of experimental psychology/cognitive neuroscience. The research focus is centered on fundamental psychological and neurobiological mechanisms of perception, attention, executive control, action and motor control, memory as well as other cognitive functions that are investigated by a state-of-the-art neuro-cognitive approach, combining methods of experimental psychology with neuroscientific techniques such as functional brain imaging, EEG and/or transcranial magnetic stimulation.

The specific research foci of the postholder should fit with the research profile of the Department of Psychology at LMU Munich (see www.psy.lmu.de). The postholder is given the opportunity to develop innovative, visionary and internationally visible fields of research that also make profitable use of LMU's existing research competencies and resources.

The professorship is closely linked with NICUM (Neuroimaging Core Unit Munich (NICUM; https://www.nicum.uni-muenchen.de). The postholder is expected to contribute to NICUM’s administration and further development. It is expected that the postholder contributes to teaching of cognitive/experimental psychology and related topics in the BSc Psychology degree program at the Department of Psychology, and is also responsible for teaching and academic administration of the international MSc degree program Neuro-Cognitive Psychology (https://www.psy.lmu.de/ncp).

The postholder is desirable to actively participate in research activities within the framework of the Munich Center for Neurosciences – Brain & Mind" (MCN; www.mcn.lmu.de), the "Munich Center of the Learning Sciences" (MCLS; www.mcls.lmu.de) as well as the interdisciplinary graduate schools of the LMU (such as the "Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences" https://www.gsn.uni-muenchen.de).

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program including acquisition of third-party funding.
